After convicted fraudster Anna Sorokin wore a sparkling ankle monitor on the US show Dancing with the Stars, fashion brands have been rushing to create their own exclusive versions in time for the christmas gift season.

Ankle monitors will join pagers as this year's must-have christmas gifts.

A spokesperson from Lapland told FNN:

Ankle monitors are usually associated with low-life criminals but Anna has single-handedly made them into the latest fashion item.

We expect a wide range of monitors to be available by christmas so everyone can grab their own piece of low-life chic.

And you don't have to have been naughty to get one. Bonus!

Meanwhile, one of the prisoners released early by the Labour government in the UK has told FNN that he will be putting in a claim for a 'Sorokin Monitor' after he was not tagged, as he should have been, when released.

Hopefully I'll get one for christmas he said while shoplifting his local corner store.
