According to Sky News:
UK weather: Europe swelters in heatwaves while UK remains cool - what's going on with the weather?
Parts of Europe have seen record-breaking heatwaves, while June in the UK has been "disappointingly cool". What's going on with the weather - and is summer likely to show itself any time soon?
What's going on is called the variable climate.
The climate is not under human control and probably never will be. Climate change in both a micro and macro sense is going on all the time and we do not have much to do with it. Get used to it. We don't control everything.
When the sun comes out in the morning, take the time to watch it rise. Because it's the Sun that is the biggest influence on the weather.
That's why more people who go out for walks in blistering heat are going to die unless they really know what they are doing. We continue to believe we are in control of the weather but this is a fallacy. When we try to control it, for example through cloud seeding to trigger rain, there can be unexpected consequences.
Weather is unpredictable, that's part of the beauty of living on Earth, a planet that actually has a varied weather system.
