The next chairman of the BBC is rumoured to be Richard Sharp, a former employee of Goldmans Sachs.

This suggests that the BBC is being prepared for sale in 2021 with an IPO managed by Goldmans and lots of profit going to the City and to the government, a bit like when British Telecom was sold off for peanuts decades ago.

Current BBC license holders will be offered preference shares in the IPO with a 0.1% discount on the offer price.

The IPO rumour was enough to encourage hundreds of BBC activists to review their contracts. Apparently the lines to Channel 4, the other main "woke" channel in the UK, have been jammed by activists trying to switch back to their alma-mater.

The potential IPO is not the only change expected at the BBC, following the appointment of new Director General Tim Davie.

Also being considered are:

  • BBC Radio Patriot - a station devoted to non-stop broadcasting of Rule BrittaniaLand of Hope and Glory and other national anthems
  • mandatory payment of the future BBC monthly subscription in Bitcoin via a new BBC digital "wallet"
  • a "balance" commentator - a bit like the Glaswegian banter character from Chewin' the Fat - to present the other side of unbalanced news simultaneously as it airs
  • banning of the word "despite" in all broadcasts
  • a new show to replace Question Time called "The Luton Laugh-In" hosted by Tommy Robinson with sketches by Jim Davidson

A spokesperson for Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In commented.

A BBC IPO. You bet your sweet bippy. That will sock it to them. Here come da Judge!

Dan Rowan and Dick Martin were unavailable for comment.
