Elon Musk announced that he no longer trusts fiat money and will now accept payment in Martian Moolah.
Musk is skipping Bitcoin altogether and instead going straight to the inter-galatic currency that is used on Mars - which, as you know, is where he wants to end up.
Like Bitcoin and Gold, Moolah has a finite number of "Mars Bars" in circulation but unlike bitcoin it uses an even more secure technology to manage inter-party ledger transactions in the currency, a technology known as the "blocked-drain".
So-called because the blocked-drain requires "miners" to go to work to unblock the drain so that the money can circulate efficiently.
A spokesperson for Mr Musk told FNN:
Many people are not familiar with the Martian currency, the Moolah, but they have been eating Mars Bars for decades without realising this humble chocolate bar is in fact a form of Martian Gold. Chcocolate manufacturer Willy Wonka has known this all along and it was he who informed Mr Musk.
EU spokesperson, Ursula von Richthofen commented:
We do not accept the payment of our EU salaries and pensions in Martian Moolah but we soon will if it turns out to be a better bet than the Euro.
