The US announced that it has canceled funding for "gain-of-function" research at the Wuhan Virology Lab due to the lab failing to meet its contract obligations.

A spokesperson for Gain of Function Extinction Research (GOFER) Inc. told FNN:

The Wuhan lab was contracted to produce 3 GoF viruses but has only managed to produce one: COVID-19. We were expecting COVID-23 this year and COVID-25 in 2025 but the lab has failed to meet its obligations.

We only funded the research in the first place so that when the 19 virus "escaped" from the lab haha it would cause havoc in China before it reached the rest of the world and so we could all make a fortune from vaccines, masks and 2m distance signs.

Unfortunately this will mean that vaccines already stockpiled for the 23 and 25 variants will have to be scrapped but that's business for you.
