FNN has learned that the race is on to provide solar power from space by converting sunlight to microwaves and beaming them down to earth.
Gnarly Dude!
Top scientist Dr. Mahatma Marsbarwrapper explains:
You know how you used a magnifying glass to concentrate sunlight to fry flies when you were a kid? Well this technology is much the same.
Basically we put a 2 kilometer diameter magnifying glass in the atmosphere and use a simple microwave converter to beam microwaves down to a specified area on earth, where the energy can be captured and distributed through a power grid.
Dr. Marsbarwrapper also advised us not to stand under the microwave ray as it would result in instant immolation.
Good advice.
One of the first industries to express an interest in the technology is Crematoriums as they are no longer able to rely on cheap Russian gas to convert their clients into ashes.
