Sky News reported that:

New secretary of state Marco Rubio said "the promotion of peace and the avoidance of conflict" will be at the centre of Trump's foreign policy approach

This is clearly totally un-American and will come as a big shock to the world - much more than tariffs or deporting immigrants.

It remains to be seen if Trump can live up to this promise but we can only hope that he does, so that the next 4 years sees a drop in killing all around the world.

But he will be up against the highly powerful US MIC and all the other MICs that ride on the coattails of US interventions worldwide.

The litmus test will be ending the war in Ukraine.
