It seems that calling out the inhumanity of Israel's actions in Gaza automatically makes you anti-semitic or a 'terrorist'

But inhumanity is not a product of race, religion or ideology.

It is a horrible part of the human condition and calling it out is not anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim, anti-Christian or anti-anything except anti-inhumanity.

It is impossible to read, say, Vasily Grossman’s description of the awful inhumanity at Treblinka (in A Writer at War, chapter 24), and not realise that the behaviour he describes is quite simply inhuman and not only driven by anti-semitism and Nazi ideology - it is far more depraved than that.

By linking criticism of inhumanity to defamatory labels, we risk apologising for inhuman behaviour by categorising it as ‘anti-something’ instead of calling it out for what it is.

Inhuman.
