There have been calls for the UK to switch to driving on the right as it was revealed that National Highways figures reported 872 incidents involving "oncoming vehicles" on England's motorways in the year to 19 June, 2023.

And the incidents are not all caused by American CIA agents driving the wrong way and claiming diplomatic immunity or EU drivers claiming that motorways are still part of the EU so they are entitled to drive on the right.

Many are drink and drug related or a reflection of the new phenomenon of trans-drivers - that is drivers who identify as LHD and not RHD and demand the right to drive however they like.

The strange thing is that Britain has invested millions in so-called 'smart motorways' (i.e. installing lots more CCTV cameras to track everyone's movements) but is unable to stop motorists driving the wrong way down a 3-lane motorway.

Go figure.
