Following the Farage debanking scandal, the UK's FCA watchdog has released a report that found no banks have closed any accounts due to the account holder's political views.

According to FCA research, banks only closed accounts when account holders have no money or when they:

  • voted for Brexit
  • expressed a liking for Trump
  • have cancelled their TV license
  • won't have a smart meter in their home
  • have a log burner in their home
  • don't have a mobile phone
  • have a last name beginning with 'F'

Nigel Farage called the report a 'whitewash' and a 'joke'.
