After the surprise win by the Ying-Tong party in the Greenland elections, it seems likely that the country will not become the 51st state but instead will join the Chinese 'belt-and-braces' initiative after the Tongs (as they are known) promised:

  • a solar powered igloo, in any colour, for every Greenlander
  • 50% off Chinese EV snowmobiles
  • an endless supply of whale meat (grown in a biolab in Wuhan)

The Ying-Tongs campaign benefited from a catchy tune that was played at their election rallies with the infectious chorus:

Ying-tong, ying-tong, ying-tong, ying-tong
Ying-tong yiddle I po

The song is expected to be Greenland's entry in the 2025 Eurovision song contest, sung by popular gay icons Julian and Sandy, stars of the popular online podcast Blow My Horn.

Spike Milligan (RIP) would be 107 this year.
