Sky News reports:
Some 40% of people in the UK believe the country will be at war within five years, and more than two-thirds fear they would be unable to cope in a conflict, according to a new poll.
And we all know why that is - because everyone in the MSM is continuously talking up the 'threat' from Russia when it appears to be the USA that is the biggest threat to world peace.
But the Generals and Air Marshals and Admirals want to ramp up defence procurement because either the Russians will roll over the whole of Europe to get to the UK, or mount a seaborne invasion or attempt to flatten the UK with hypersonic missiles from their submarines.
No-one seems to ask the obvious question:
When the war with Ukraine finally ends why exactly would Russia want to start yet another war and directly with the whole of NATO (as article 5 would be triggered if it attacked the UK)?
Of course, we get it: Putin is a 'madman' and no-one knows what he will do next. A bit like Trump.
But why is Putin going to start a war with a country thousands of miles from Russia's borders? That's not his style.
Of course, we get it: Putin is an 'imperialist' who wants to add the UK as a new oblast to his greater Russia. A bit like Trump with Greenland.
It's all nonsense but naturally people who buy into this nonsense become afraid.
Who wouldn't? Everyday it's the Russian threat, the UK is lagging behind Russian weaponry, Putin has it in for the UK because he hates Brits. Yada, yada.
There's nothing wrong with preparing for war 'survivalist' style by stocking up on pork pies and fuel or whatever.
But the only reason the UK will be at war in 5 years is because it has joined yet another illegal 'war of choice' started by the USA or maybe even the EU.
Not because the Sceptered Isles are being invaded by hordes of Russians or Chinese or Iranians.
And if that does happen, all the 'resilience' in the world is not likely to help one iota.
