Due to EU sanctions on Russia being met with gas restrictions, Germany has announced a sanctions tax to be paid by all energy consumers, expected to be €500-600 per consumer. While UK politicians are running around trying to figure out how to give money back to British cost of living crisis consumers, Germany is taxing them.

The new energy tax is likely to be followed by a weapons tax since the supply of weapons to Ukraine has got to be paid for by someone and was not in the budget. The obvious solution is a windfall tax on the EU military-industrial complex. But there's zero chance of that happening!

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen told FNN:

Nobody could have expected that imposing sanctions on the Russian people would result in reductions in energy supplies to Germany. It's outrageous! I can't think of one EU diplomat who expected this tit-for-tat reaction when we all voted for sanctions. Unfortunately the 'weaponization' of Western brands like Coca-Cola, KFC and McDonalds is simply not as impactful as having no energy to run the country on. Vorsprung Durch Teknik!
