Publication of the book The Snow Forest by Elizabeth Gilbert is to be delayed simply because it is set in Siberia.

Perhaps the book should be reset in the Amazonian rain forest instead and given a politically correct climate-change theme?

We are fast moving towards the Orwellian situation of:

- all Russian literature banned for being set in Russia
- all Russian artists banned because, after all, they are only Russian 'untermensch'
- all Russian sportspeople being banned even if they are of the same sex as those they are competing with
- all Russian news banned because it is 'disinformation' and contrary to the prevailing 'end of history' narrative

What's next?

Xenophobic right-wing social media elements calling for all books about Russia to be thrown onto piles and burned, reminiscent of what the Nazis did in May 1933?

Just who exactly is going 'tone-deaf' here?
