President Macron of France continues to try to pretend that Europe is key to a settlement in Ukraine with renewed calls for NATO 'peacekeepers' (boots on the ground ) in Ukraine.
What is he kidding me?
The whole issue of Ukraine joining NATO - an enemy alliance on a very long border with Russia - was surely the main reason that Russia invaded in the first place, along with:
- A right-wing backed coup that overthrew a democratically elected government
- Persecution and incineration of Ukrainians who did not go along with the coup
- Obvious weaponizing and taking control of Ukraine economically by the West
So how does he think that putting NATO boots on the ground is going to help anything?
Russia will obviously view it as a provocation, a thin end of the wedge and a clear demonstration that Europe does not understand why Russia invaded in the first place...or more likely pretends it doesn't.
Russia knows that NATO troops in Ukraine will:
- Further integrate the Ukrainian forces with NATO
- Get Ukrainians used to another foreign occupation...this time by the West
- Create useful forward bases that can be ramped up as needed in the future
Why do we and the people of Europe elect these idiots as leaders?
No wonder they think their electorates are stupid as they appear to buy this nonsense.
