The EU is to test new sun blocking technology to assist with climate change.

Basically, this consists of a large shade about the size of Wales being put into low-orbit that can be controlled via an app from Brussels.

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen told FNN:

Basically the sun-shade is like an electricity smart meter in the home but this device can affect a whole country or part of it simply by blocking off the sun.

This way we can control how much sun an EU member receives and therefore how much food they can grow.

We can control when the sun rises and when it sets - all from a desk in Brussels!

We intend to test the technology first on Hungary, which is not toeing the line on Russia. Let's see what Orban thinks of that!

But we wish our friends in the UK were still in the EU - then we could test it on them instead.
