Many people tend to ignore that the US threat to Greenland may well end up with the same result as what happened to Hawaii when it was taken by force by the USA in 1893, as Govfacts reports:

From the Native Hawaiian perspective, this wasn’t a negotiated transfer of sovereignty. It was conquest—a military overthrow of their government followed by unilateral incorporation into a foreign power. The queen never recognized the annexation’s legitimacy. The Native Hawaiian population, the vast majority of Hawaii’s inhabitants at the time, became citizens without consenting to the transformation.

Basically this is analogous to Ukraine if you replace Hawaiian citizens with those of eastern Ukraine after the Maidan coup.

If you take the view that Hawaii was annexed by force and is not in fact legally a part of the USA, then you end up admitting that Trump may have had a point when he claimed that Barack Obama was not an Amercian citizen and therefore ineligible to become President.

Nothing to do with Kenya and all to do with Hawaii.

Of course there are no sugar plantations in Greenland but there are other resources the US would like to control so FNN suggests that Greenlanders should prepare for the worst, learn the hula-hula and buy themselves grass skirts.
