After the Davos meeting, Trump posted on his Truth Social site that he and the NATO boss "have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic region. His solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America and all NATO nations".

So now the US and NATO are openly deciding the fate of countries like Greenland and entire regions like the Arctic?

Who gave them this authority?

Not the UN obviously.

The UN is being steadily sidelined as an irrelevancy in geopolitics and seems to be being relegated to some kind of global humanitarian role.

Clearly the UN has run its course as various nations run roughshod over international law and don't much care any more about window dressing their rampaging with any kind of UN 'mandate' to justify their actions.
