Space Race 2.0 is underway now that it has become clear that the moon is actually stuffed with a valuable resource: Marmite!
For some years now, analysts have been predicting a shortage of marmite here on earth and that there could be massive social disruption if people are deprived of their supply.
A spokesperson explained:
It may seem crazy but the availability of massive reserves of marmite in the moon could really help with space travel generally.
You see, the chemical composition of marmite is MH2O, which allows the substance to be split into 'H' (hydrogen for rocket fuel) and O (oxygen to help astronauts to breathe).
The other constituent 'M' is only useful for spreading on toast.
But Swedish Lutheran minister Greta Thunderberg, currently protesting outside a Willy Wonka Marmite factory, warned:
Marmite is a massive contributor to greenhouse gases as it is a primary generator of methane after it is eaten.
