Chatham House hosts notorious Ukrainian neo-Nazi mob leader

A prominent far-right militant has been invited to discuss the future of Europe in London

London-based think tank Chatham House has hosted notorious Ukrainian neo-Nazi Yevhen Karas as a speaker at an event called 'War in Ukraine: The battleground for the future of Europe'.

The think tank presented Karas as the commander of the 413th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems 'Raid' of Ukraine's armed forces, failing to mention his colorful neo-Nazi background.

Presumably he was subject to the same vetting as the current head of MI6.

Karas is a former leader of S14, branded a 'hate group' by none other than the US Department of State according to Wikipedia.

Right-wing Ukrainian groups have made it quite clear what kind of future they would like to see in Ukraine and it's hardly the kind of future most Europeans would want.

According to this Freedom House briefing:

Far-right extremism represents a threat to the democratic development of Ukrainian society. The brief provides an overview of the activities and influence of the far right, differentiating between groups that express radical ideas but by and large operate within a democratic framework and extremist groups, which resort to violence to influence society.

Strangely there has been no comment from UK PM Keir Starmer denouncing the UK establishment platforming of 'right-wing thugs'.

Last we heard, British 'right-wing thugs' were getting long prison sentences in the UK.

But not this one. He's invited to talk at a prestigious gathering.

Why is that do you think?
