The Governor of the Bank of England says that AI will not be 'a mass destroyer of jobs'.

Or at least not his job.

Banks will of course be denuded of almost all human workers within a decade as branches are shut, all banking is done online and electronically, cash is dispensed with and all customer support is provided by - you guessed it - AI bots!

As will almost every industry you care to think of - despite the Guv's assurances that machines work better with people. Presumably with people powering them, matrix-battery style.

Apparently, a House of Lords committee's chair Baroness Stowell told the BBC that talk of "existential risks and sci-fi scenarios" should not get in the way of reaping the rewards of AI.

The rewards being no jobs and a future of unrelenting inhumanity as AI steadily disintermediates those who created it.

You have been warned.
