New Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov told media today that Kyiv's goal is to kill 50,000 Russians a month, according to the Kyiv Independent.

He laid out two goals, one being management, where he said that "if people don't demonstrate measurable results, they can't remain in the system". 

"The second strategic objective is to kill 50,000 Russians per month," Fedorov added.

"Last month, 35,000 were killed, all these losses are verified on video. If we reach 50,000, we will see what happens to the enemy. They view people as a resource, and shortages are already evident."

Ukraine estimates Russia's overall casualties have surpassed 1,200,000. 

Is this the kind of thing that reputable mainstream media should be reporting: War as video game?

Are the Ukrainians now videoing every Russian they kill for some lip-smacking satisfaction on Tik-Tok?

One minute you're watching some random girl cavorting half-naked in her bedroom and then next up - some random Russian being killed.

Pass the popcorn!

Imagine if Israel had said: Our aim is to kill 50,000 Palestinians a month in Gaza? Oh, the outcry!

But this is Ukraine talking and apparently the West and the MSM are supposed to revel in the fact that Ukraine claims (mostly) western weapons have resulted in 1.2 million Russian casualties. Urrah!

It doesn't much matter if the number is true or not. It's the celebration. 

Does nobody else think this kind of reporting is sick?

Or is this just what we have to expect now from people brought up on First Person Shooter (FPS) video games?

Ukrainian lawmaker Anna Skorokhod criticized Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov after he spoke about killing Russians as a strategic goal, Strana.ua reported.

Skorokhod said the defense minister set a target of 50,000 Russians killed per month and called that strategy «sick." She argued that Ukraine’s priorities should be ending the war, exchanging all Ukrainian prisoners of war, finding and bringing back everyone missing in action, and returning soldiers from the front who are already morally and physically exhausted. She also said it was strange to discuss such a goal while Ukrainians are left without electricity, water, and heat. In her view, Ukraine should be focused on peace and preserving the nation.

Skorokhod is currently on bail in Ukraine accused of corruption as reported on Liga.net:

The bail of the MP, who is a suspect in the case of incitement to bribe in the amount of $250,000, has been increased. About (sic) said Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The suspect has not been named, but according to the details of the case, it is Anna Skorokhod, who, together with her accomplices, was caught inciting a bribe for the application of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council against a competitor company.

Whether Ms Skorokhod is guilty of corruption or not - and who can say - this woman has a lot of balls and should be commended for her moral stance on this issue.
