Anti-hunt campaigners in Scotland were horrified when a pupil from a school was seen being chased across fields by a pack of beagles.

The pupil, who identifies as 'Basil Brush', had been nosing around the school bins when a local hunt pack being exercised nearby suddenly gave chase.

Basil was rescued by a PE teacher who managed to outrun the dogs and return the pupil to the classroom.

A spokesperson told FNN:

Identifying as a fox is particularly problematic given that they are widely regarded as pests in rural communities. We are providing support to Basil after his ordeal, which is something no fox should have to experience.

Boom! Boom! As Basil might say.
