Sky News claims that a 'Planet-friendly' diet could reduce risk of death from chronic illness by 25%, according to experts from Harvard University who tracked the diets of 100,000 people over three decades in a research study.

One of the experts told FNN:

We have found that food grown on this planet is far better for you than anything grown on other planets.

For example a diet rich in Mars bars is likely to lead to health complications later in life.

Anything sprinkled with moondust or recovered from an exploding meteorite is also unlikely to be very good for you.

This is not surprising since it has probably taken millions of light years to get here, which is much longer than the shelf life of the average banana but probably less than that of the average Twinkie.

Australian foodie Blll "Ramsey" Heslop commented:

I don't eat anything that doesn't come from my own backyard. And the only thing in my backyard is a stack of Foster's six-packs.

Hey Muriel! Fetch me a tinnie. I'm parched.
