Sky News reports:
'It would have been reasonable' for Robbins to make a record of his decision, says Little
The permanent secretary of the Cabinet Office suggests she believes Sir Olly Robbins should have made a record of his decision to approve Peter Mandelson's security clearance.
The ineptitude in this top-level vetting process is really mind-boggling.
Apparently Sir Olly Robbins did not make a record of of his decision to approve Mandelson's security clearance for his appointment to the most important UK diplomatic post.
How is this even possible?
It's no wonder that Robbins was sacked even if it was only for this 'oversight'.
Once again, Starmer needs to do the decent thing and resign.
All this vetting nonsense is a massive distraction from managing the UK's many other problems - the ecomony, immigration, high energy costs etc - and ultimately the PM is responsible.
