According to The Spectator, Copenhagen is to remove the big mermaid from a Fort she was moved to in 2018 as the statue is deemed ‘not fitting’ with the cultural heritage of the 1910 fort by Denmark’s Agency for Palaces and Culture.

This is not the demure, little green mermaid, but the one with it's impressive rack stuck out as if to say - Hey you! Check out these gazoingas!

Apparently, Denmark continues to want to distance itself from its reputation as a porn capital of the past, an indelible part of its modern cultural heritage.

Or maybe it wants to avoid promoting breast enhancement by mermaids.

FNN wonders how this will be taken in Oslo where an enormous pair of breasts can be found sat in the grounds of an art museum. According to the museum, these are eyeballs, but no-one who has seen them actually believes that. And what about the many breasts on show on the writhing statues of the Vigeland Park?

While the young - and not so-young - of many nations are busily cavorting on their own webcam channels, Tik-Tok and OnlyFans pages, Denmark is taking down a statue of a bare-breasted mermaid.

Go figure.
