According to Sky News:
Many British Airways passengers will soon be watching a period drama created by the director of Bridget Jones's Diary for the safety video.
Sharon Maguire's five-minute video is inspired by some of Britain's famous literature, TV and film, and will feature on long-haul flights from 1 August.
It stars more than 40 British Airways staff, who wear costumes designed by three-time Oscar winning designer Jenny Beavan.
They worked with renowned dialect coach Jill McCullough to perfect their accents.
Meanwhile, BA passengers travelling for hours in 'World Traveller' are offered a bag of pretzels and a few mouthfuls of Harrogate water to encourage them to buy onboard drinks and snacks, many of which are out of stock anyway 'for operational reasons'.
Fact is, BA became a low-cost airline years ago and no jazzed up upstairs-downstairs themed safety videos are going to change that.
Instead of focusing on designer staff uniforms and snazzy videos perpetuating tired old stereotypes about the UK, BA would be better off taking a few flights on the world's actual favourite airlines and learning something about in-flight service.
