The UK government is pledging to introduce Digital IDs - so-called Brit Cards - with the excuse that they will help with the immigration crisis.
Obviously most people already have a digital ID called a passport or a driving licence or a Government Gateway ID or a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) etc.
But the people who typically don't have any of these are illegal immigrants.
So FNN thinks Digital IDs are a great idea but only for illegal immigrants who should be issued them as soon as they disembark the boats.
The rest of the UK's 'legal' population almost certainly has one of the existing digital IDs and the last thing needed is another one.
The cost of replacing all the current digital IDs with a single new one would probably be enough to build a high-speed rail network all over Britain.
This is another of Tony 'WMD' Blair's pet projects supported by his Spare Change Foundation, which for many people is all you need to know to want to avoid Digitial IDs with a ten-foot barge pole.
