A Democratic fundraiser, featuring Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George Clooney and Julia Roberts raised $28m, the largest amount raised for any Democratic candidate in one evening.
The $28 million ensures that a care package will be in place for the President when he leaves office, which could be soon, so he can be safely released into the community - a standard procedure to ensure the safety of dementia patients.
The sum also ensures that the President will not be a burden on the nation's taxpayers in his golden years.
According to Variety magazine:
Tickets started at $250, and ranged up to $500,000 for a package including a photo with the two presidents and a ticket to the after-party.
These pricey photos are expected to show up in bathrooms all over the Hollywood Hills and eventually on E-Bay.
Attendee Barbra Streisand was not called upon to sing her hit song Guilty, which is a shame as it's a great tune and could have captured the event's zeitgeist nicely.
