The defence secretary, John Healey, tells Sky News the Iranian regime is a source of evil and is "lashing out in an increasingly indiscriminate and widespread way", following extensive US strikes that have killed the Iranian Ayatollah.
Meanwhile the UK Greens have come out fighting:
US strikes on Iran are 'an illegal and unprovoked attack', say Greens
Reacting to those strikes, (Greens leader) Zack Polanski told the BBC: "We've seen what I would say is an illegal and unprovoked attack.
"We've got a defence secretary saying that diplomacy is the long runway we need but won't condemn Donald Trump when he attacks a country and assassinates its leader.
"That's the law of the jungle. That's an end to international law.
But unfortunately the UK has hitched its wagon to a cowboy who is intent on killing whoever he can in the name of 'democracy'.
If the Airstrip One UK government won't condemn the USA over Iran then what will happen with Cuba or Greenland?
Why would anyone care when they are pummeled and merged into the USA?
