News that President Trump is to sue The New York Times (NYT) for $15bn shows how times change.

According to Jonathan Mahler in his book The Gods of New York (pp. 99-100), the paper once compared Trump to Robert Redford and executive editor A.M. Rosenthal was once commended by Trump for the 'glowing profile, headlined: THE EXPANDING EMPIRE OF DONALD TRUMP'.

In a letter to Rosenthal to thank him for the article, Trump expressed 'tremendous admiration' for the editor himself and the 'great institution' known as the NYT.

The NYT should have known that Trump, unlike First Class passengers in TWA, would not take anything 'lying down'!
