News that President Trump has realized that Presidents Putin and Xi are 'not to be toyed with' shows that at least he can admit that he is out of his depth even with numbskulls like Lindsey Graham yapping at his heels.

Putin and Xi were around pre-Trump and will surely be around post-Trump when he goes back to playing golf and hosting TV shows.

Unlike European leaders, they don't just rollover to Trump's bluster and call him 'daddy', they stand up for their nation's interests.

Trump continues to hold back on supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles and seems to be acknowledging his inability to end the Ukraine war all by himself:

And in comments that will perhaps be of even more concern to Kyiv, he said the following when asked what would be the "last straw" for the US regarding Russia's actions in Ukraine: "There is no last straw. Sometimes you just have to let events unfold."

While notoriously capricious in his statements around Ukraine, this particular remark echoes a comment he made last week following his talks with Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Then, he said the pair had spent some time discussing Ukraine, but agreed "the sides are locked in" - adding "sometimes you have to let them fight, I guess".
