Now that the UK is to publish league tables of foreign criminals and their offences, a new gambling game is set to join the UK Lottery, football pools and Spot-the-Ball competitions: Deport-A-Bet!
According to Sky News:
The most common nationalities after British nationals were Albanian (11%), Polish (8%), Romanian (7%), which also represented the top three nationalities who were deported from the UK in 2024, according to Home Office figures.
Punters will now be able to bet on the deportation figures for the following week.
Predicting a 'win' means the deportation figure for a nationality will go up, a 'draw' that the figure remains the same and a 'loss' that the deportations of a specific nationality go down.
50% of all monies raised will be allocated to help fund the building of non-UK 'return hubs' for failed asylum seekers.
