The UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) have cleared only fans star @sphincter following complaints after four billboards were put up in London .

The ASA claimed the billboards were not "overtly sexual" and "did not objectify women" so they were "unlikely" to offend.

The billboards show a close-up of a sphincter with a link to see more on onlyfans.com.

The ASA ruled that the pose adopted by the sphincter was "asexual" - presumably because many people would not recognize what it was, having never seen their own sphincter in close-up, and anyway would have no idea whether it was a male or female sphincter.

When passers-by were polled by FNN, many thought the billboard was a starfish, a lunar crater, a sink-hole or the sandy lair of a predatory ant-lion.

When it was revealed the billboard was a sphincter, the most common reaction was: Golly. So that's what it looks like!

Australian advertising guru Bill "Billboard" Heslop told FNN:

It's only a small step from cleavage to sphincters. One small step for man, one giant leap for social disintegration.

Hey Muriel! Fetch me a tinnie. I'm parched.
