In the light of the recent furore over comments made by former US President Trump relating to NATO funding, NATO has begin looking for someone else to donate money to its budget.
The front runners are:
- China
- Iran
- North Korea
Prior to the Ukraine conflict Russia would have been top of this list as Russia and NATO now share so many borders due to NATO expansion eastwards.
A NATO spokesperson explained:
Even though everyone is talking up WW3, the need to go onto a war footing yada yada yada there is no way we can afford to pay the 2% of GDP we are supposed to pay to belong to NATO when we can't import cheap Russian gas anymore.
So if the USA is not going to foot the bill, as Trump has warned, then we have to look elsewhere for funding our security and all those defensive wars we have started.
