How 'hero city' of Ukraine defied Putin and stalled 30,000 invaders
As the fourth anniversary of Putin's invasion approaches, Sky News has spoken to Chernihiv's people about their struggles, sacrifices and to ask if they think peace will come to Ukraine this year.
Sky called this 'Putin's shame'.
The story which turns out to be about events in 2022 and is clearly timed to coincide with another anniversary of the SMO is a carefully constructed smear.
'Hero cities' is a term normally associated with the Soviet cities of Leningrad and Stalingrad where over a million civilians perished as a result of the efforts of the Nazis and their Finnish allies (in the siege of Leningrad).
Zelensky will be well aware of the fact that he uses the term 'hero city' as a deliberate poke at Putin (who comes from the real 'hero city' of Leningrad/St Petersburg).
The shame is that western media collude in this smear, smirking behind the ignorance of many of their readers.
