Dead Internet Theory proposes that the Internet has died due to the prevalence of AI bots taking over from real human participants.

But in fact the internet died years ago when the bulk of online discourse was largely taken over by social media rambling, porn, extremists and bubble-dwellers.

While the amount of AI generated content and automated bot activity is bound to grow over the years, what seems to be forgotten is that the internet is also crowded with human 'bots' - those people obesessed with checking their phones, texting, commenting and following and liking - and narcissists posting photos and videos in order to influence or to monetize their content.

The combination of AI and human online zombies is basically destroying the internet and the web and turning it into a horrible monster, a hydra that can't be killed, a medusa that forces you to spend inordinate amounts of time looking at something that is slowly destroying you as a human being, like a new kind of cancer.
