Geroge Orwell predicted three warring zones in the world in his book Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984): Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia.

And it looks like we are moving ever closer to his dystopian vision as Trump goes on an annexing spree, the EU declares its intention to become a 'military powerhouse' and China, Russia and India move closer together as a consequence of the Ukraine conflict.

The countries included in each zone may be different from what Orwell expected but the zones are about right.

Oceania (or Monroevia if you prefer) is dominated by the USA (and btw includes both North and South Poles).

Eurasia no longer includes Russia but will be dominated either by the EU or the Fourth Reich (a remilitiarised Germany).

Eastasia is now a much bigger and more powerful proposition encompassing China, Russia, India and the Global South.

Orwell imagined all 3 zones as at perpetual war with each other or at least with state propaganda claiming they were all at perpetual war or threatened by each other to keep their populations in check and in the dark.
