EU President Ursula Von Der Lyin' has admitted at the Munich Security Conference that the EU leadership has learned a new word:

Outsourcing

A spokesperson explained:

Here in the EU we thought outsourcing meant using slave labour in China to do stuff cheaply that we could then sell on for a premium.

But it has taken US Vice President J D Vance to teach us that we have been outsourcing our defence to the USA for decades following the end of World War Two and we simply didn't realise it.

Because we outsourced our defence, it is clear that the US is to blame for us hollowing out our defence industries, reducing our ability to produce weapons in response to external threats and being unable to recruit enough troops for our armed forces to be viewed as anything other than a joke.

So we will be seeking an urgent meeting with President Trump and asking him explain why we have relied on US money to protect Europe for so long.
