Royal Navy destroyer intercepts Russian warship off UK coast

The Type 45 destroyer and helicopter, a Wildcat model, were scrambled to shadow Russian destroyer Vice Admiral Kulakov.

Despite the fact that anyone can see this is a Russian warship sailing in international waters:

The [RN] destroyer used advanced sensors and systems to intercept the Russian vessel in the North Sea.

Commander Dan Lee, HMS Duncan's commanding officer, said: "This operation highlights the Royal Navy's commitment to safeguarding UK waters and working seamlessly with our NATO allies to ensure the security of our shared maritime spaces."

Except that the Royal Navy doesn't ensure the UK's security since it is unable to stop multiple migrant boats per day operated by criminal people smugglers crossing the English channel.
