As the world eagerly awaits the 2025 Assassination Awards, traditionally held in either Washington, Tel-Aviv or Moscow, assassination watchers are wondering if this year's award ceremony will be held in Kiev as they move up the world assasination rankings with recent hits on Russian General Igor Kirillov and the Armenian-Russian paramilitary leader from eastern Ukraine, Armen Sarkisyan.
Traditionally dominated by the USA, Israel and Russia the category of Most Effective Assassins of 2024-25 currently favours the Ukrainians.
They are definitely a shoe-in for the Most Promising New Assassin award after two amateur assassins failed to put away President-elect Trump during the 2024 election in the USA.
As a result of Ukrainian efforts, the winner of the Most Effective Assassination Weapon category may change from the recent multi-year winner of drones, the de-facto choice from the USA, to the more traditional bomb blast favored by Ukraine.
A popular nominee in this category - Novichok - has dropped down the rankings after the failed assassinations of the Skripals in the UK and Navalny in Russia have cast doubt on its effectiveness compared to say Plutonium tea.
And the award for the most Popular Assassination Quote of 2025 is certain to go to President Trump who said in reference to any Iranian plot to assassinate him:
